The Team

Sue Buscemi
Health Coach, Founder

Sue Buscemi

After receiving a life-threatening diagnosis of unknown origin, I later discovered the underlying cause was Lyme disease. As the mother of four young children, I went on a mission—a mission to reclaim my health and remain present for my family. I was determined to do everything possible to heal and not leave my children without their mother.

Guided by prayer for strength and discernment, along with significant dietary changes, exercise, and targeted nutritional supplementation, I was able to overcome what once seemed impossible. The journey was difficult and often isolating. During that time, my daily focus was simply to care for my family while steadily working toward recovery. Through this experience, I developed a deep compassion for others who suffer quietly and feel alone in their health challenges.

I made a personal promise that if I regained my health and raised my children, I would devote my life to helping others do the same. For nearly 35 years, I have fulfilled that mission through health coaching, supporting countless individuals in achieving lasting improvements in their health and quality of life. Witnessing my clients’ lives change for the better continues to guide and inspire my work.

Sherri L. Hawkins

The Wellness Lady

Sherri L. Hawkins knows what it feels like to search for answers and find only silence.

In 2001, she began facing serious health challenges, a severe Vitamin B-12 deficiency, anemia, and years of consultations that led nowhere. Then in 2007, a diagnosis of an incurable inflammatory skin condition left her standing at a crossroads between discouragement and determination. She chose determination.

That choice changed everything.

In 2008, a nutritionist offered her something the specialists had not: hope, and a different way of seeing. Sherri’s perspective on health and healing shifted. Her purpose came into focus. And the mission she carries today was quietly born in that room.

For more than 15 years, Sherri has empowered individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices and has been a Certified Health Coach for the past five years. She has also been a speaker, advocate, and educator, based in Maryland and reaching well beyond it. She is known warmly as The Wellness Lady, and the name fits. There is nothing clinical or distant about her approach. She meets people where they are and walks with them toward something better.

Her framework is whole-person wellness: food as medicine, whole-food nutrition, sustainable lifestyle habits, and thoughtful supplementation when it serves. But underneath the practical tools is a deeper conviction. Sherri believes our bodies are sacred ground. Caring for them is not vanity. It is stewardship.

Faith, prayer, persistence, discipline, and a commitment to lifelong learning have shaped her own transformation. Those same principles now shape her work with clients, communities, and audiences across the country. Her voice has carried through VitaJournal Magazine, Grace and Glory Magazine, The Inspired Podcast with Michael Ellison, and The Dr. Roni DeLuz Radio Show.

Whether she is coaching one-on-one, leading a workshop, or speaking from a stage, her mission does not waver.

Educate, Encourage and Inspire. One wellness choice at a time.

Karen Winger

Karen has been passionate about helping people look and feel their best for over 25 years. Raised in a family that valued healthy eating, supplements, and regular exercise, she developed an early appreciation for the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

As a Mission Health Coach, Karen encourages clients to develop healthy habits that lead to lasting results. Mission Health Coaches do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat disease, and clients are encouraged to discuss any coaching recommendations with their physician.
